An Intro to FlyLady

So, I decided that I will be "Flying" with FlyLady to keep our new home neat and organized. I am starting with her Baby Steps and working in the weekly zones. As of now, I am using DIYFish LM Planner inserts in my Day Runner (I still can't find the boxes with my Filofaxes...UGH!!!). I will do a more detailed post and YouTube video after I have been using the system for a week. Are you using FlyLady for your home? Comment below and share with me your successes!

Closer Look: A5 Original Filofax

I am in no way a Filofax expert but here are my brief thoughts on my initial feelings about the Original. As I add to my collection, I will add more reviews and comparisons as I search for the perfect Filofax (for me).

The leather holds fingerprints so I will have to clean it more than I would like but I LOVE the way it feels.

The inside is what almost turned me away. I like the card holders and pockets that are found in most of the other Filofaxes. I don't like the elastic strap at all but have made use of it by attaching my pens. For the most part, the planner lies flat...at least flat enough for me.

Instead of hold a wider notepad, this one comes with the skinny notepad. I am thinking that I can use a shopping list to add more pop of color instead of this Filofax mini pad.

The planner came with 2 types of inserts: Week on 2 pages with lines and Week on 2 pages w/o lines. Still deciding on the best way to organize the planner for work and which inserts will work best for staying organized throughout the week.

I was warned that the strap was small and it really is. The more stuff I put in my Original the more the strap becomes a problem. I have found that I may have to remove the pens from the front so that the organizer will close more comfortably.

All in all, I really like the A5 Original in patent purple. The color is great and I love the way it feels (and smells). It is way more stylish than my Domino but I have to really take care of it because it doesn't feel as sturdy. What do you think about the Original?

My A5 Domino Filofax...The Beginning

So, here is how the story goes...

One day,  a couple of months or so ago, I began watching videos on planning and organization. I have been purchasing planners almost every year since high school. I have many intentions to write everything down and follow detailed "To Do" lists. However, each year these intentions fall along the wayside and I quickly lose interest. I decided that I would make me a planner using Graphic 45's A Place in Time Collection. I began the planner while on vacation but never finished. I then decided to purchase the Martha Stewart 5.5 x 8.5 binder. I began decorating the weekly pages and found the planner very useful and I referred back to it throughout the week. Then, the inevitable...I happened upon a YouTube video and the person was talking about a Filofax. Then I watched another, then another, then another...I was fixated on this thing called a Filofax. I began researching it and looking at pictures and watching even more YouTube videos...I became enthralled. Could it be that this one item could single-handily change the way I plan my week and organize my life? So, I decided to search on Amazon and found this beautiful A5 Domino in deep pink....and thus began the addiction....

Craft Room Organization: Washi Tape Storage

I have tried a couple of different solutions for storing my washi tape. With so few rolls, you would think it would be an easy task to accomplish. I finally decided to use a small Sterilite container that sits on my table. All of my rolls can fit into one drawer. As my collection expands, I can place them in the other drawers. For now it works well!!! How do you store your washi?!
